The Jefferson Forest boys soccer team will be honored with a parade this Tuesday morning.
It will roll at 11 am, leaving from the Forest Middle School, onto Rt 221 to Perrowville Road past the high school and around the bus loop to the back of the school. The parade is to commemorate the team's State championship, the first by a Bedford County varsity team in more than five years.
A quartet of Staunton River footballers will move on next year. But, rest assured, the class of ‘11 will be remembered for a long time as the foundation of the Golden Eagles’ turnaround.
Jedd Zaring, the head coach of the Jefferson Forest boys soccer program, is the type of leader who deflects attention away from himself. The only limelight he likes is that which is placed on his players.
