Going into Friday night's game, Amherst was the only Seminole District team to hold a winning record over Liberty this century.
Indeed, in the 13 games prior to this one, the Lancers held a 7-6 edge. When the dust settled Friday night at Minutemen Stadium, that distinction was lost.
Liberty outmuscled and outraced the perennially powerful and speedy Lancers, 42-16.
The game was nearly the polar opposite of last year's matchup, won by Amherst, 46-14.
