Fishing the past few weeks has been good! Most species of fish are in their summer patterns. Night time is the best time to try your luck!

Striper fishing the past few weeks has been poor. Cooler water temperatures hopefully will make for better fishing this month.

        The “A” Meet Swimming Championships took place on Saturday, July 30. The “A” Meet Championship capped off the summer for the Lynchburg area.
        There were 12 teams competing: Hill City Swim Club, Peakland Otters, Oakwood Gators, Forest Area Swim Team, Boonesboro CC, Wildwood, Vista Acres Swim Team, Farmington, Rainbow Forest Swim Club, Falling River CC, Bedford Area YMCA Barracudas and Winton CC Swim Team.

Fishing the past few weeks has been good! The baitfish will continue to move to the shoreline late at night as they are trying to finish spawning. Most species of fish have spawned. Night time is the best time to try your luck!

  • Third Annual Gunnin’ for Gobblers spring turkey hunt

        The Bedford Outdoor Sportsman Association Inc. (BOSA) hosted its third annual Gunnin’ For Gobblers spring turkey hunt on Saturday, April 23.
        Seventeen physically challenged hunters from around the state plus one from North Carolina participated. Included in the group of hunters were six service veterans, one of which received the Silver Star, this nation’s third highest award for combat valor, for his efforts in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The baitfish has moved to the shoreline late at night as they are trying to spawn. The warmer weather has caused fishing patterns to change. Most fish are feeding at night!
