Ballengee takes bronze at USATF Junior Nationals

Markus Ballengee has stood tall against all challenges thrown at him.

Literally.

The lengthy 6-foot-6 Staunton River alumnus has been tasked with learning several new decathlon events, overcoming injury, and even tracking down lost equipment before the USATF 2017 Junior Outdoor Nationals.

Ballengee, a rising sophomore at Liberty University, travelled to Sacramento, Calif, for the junior national championship from June 22-23. He earned the No. 3 seed for the prestigious event after scoring 6,840 points at the Virginia Challenge in late April.
