Join us for Sunday School at 9:45 AM and at 11:00 AM for Morning Worship. Children’s Church and the Nursery are both available. Our Morning Service is accessible for viewing on Facebook Live (Bedford Baptist Church Bedford, VA) or you can view our livestream service on our website: bedfordbaptist.org. At the bottom of the page, click on either the Facebook or YouTube icons. We invite you to join us for supper on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm and stay for Bible Study at 6:45 — 7:30 pm. Pastor Michael is presenting a 66-week series in which he is highlighting a different book of the Bible each week. Our meals are catered by Blue Lady Café at a cost of $8.00 per meal. On the 3rd Wednesday (Business Meeting) night, meals are provided by different Sunday School classes or committees. We hope you will donate towards the specified mission’s group being supported on that evening. There will be no Bible Study on Business Meeting night. Join us for an interactive time of worship “Murder Mystery” Who Killed Jesus on Sunday, October 29 during our regular worship hour. Sunday, October 29 we will hold our 1st annual Chili Cookoff directly following morning worship. We are looking for wonderful cooks to bring their “prized” child recipes for this event. A sign-up sheet is at the welcome table. Trunk or Treat, Tuesday, October 31 from 5 — 7. We are looking for members to sign up for this fun Halloween event. As we look forward to November, the Outreach Committee is planning another opportunity for our community to join us in a “Thanksgiving Praise Celebration” on November 19th from 6 until 8 pm. The Fellowship Hall doors will open at 5:30 pm with a meal starting at 6:00 pm. Our time of praise and worship will begin around 6:45 pm. We invite everyone to attend. No RSVP required. Childcare will be provided. The Friday evening “Pick-Up” Bluegrass/Gospel Jam sessions start at 7 pm and end at 9 pm. We are pleased by the turnout. So, if you’re looking for a good Christian activity on Friday night, this is the liveliest spot in town! Main Street United Methodist Church
In the aftermath of the disaffiliations in the United Methodist Church, the Virginia Conference has named Main Street a “bridge church.” This is a UMethodist Church which has agreed to assist those who still want to be United Methodists in finding a home church that they will be comfortable in, either here at Main Street or in another UMethodist church. EastLake Community Church Hosting Loss of a Spouse Seminar
Grieving the death of a spouse? Or do you know someone who is? The loss of a spouse is a life-changing event, and the daily emotions and challenges can be hard to bear. Do you dread the lonely days and nights? Wonder what to do with your spouse’s belongings? Feel like your brain is in a fog? Unsure of how you’ll go on? EastLake Community Church, located at 1201 Timberwood Lane, Moneta EastLake’s GriefShare team is gearing up for its next round of regular meetings, which encompass 13 weeks of videos, group discussions and personal reflection and study. The series is for anyone grieving the death of a loved one (family member or friend). The group will meet Saturday mornings 10am-12pm, starting September 9. Bedford Community Early Morning Prayer
Each Friday morning the Bedford community is invited to join in prayer for our community and nation at Word of Life Evangelical Church, 912 Burks Hill Road in Bedford. There are usually at least five churches represented at these meetings, and more would be welcome. The doors open at 6 AM for personal prayer time, and the group begins praying together at 7 AM, and usually ends by around 7:30. We are praying for the Bedford Awakening to continue and for our country to soon experience its Third Great Awakening.
Bedford Christian Ministries will be doing regular food distribution on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday mornings from 9 to 10:30 AM. Social distancing is practiced and streamlined procedures limit time in the building to 15 minutes or less. Food is brought out to your vehicle. Financial aid is available by appointment only and is separate from food assistance visits. Call 586-2633 to schedule an appointment or for general information.

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church (1695 Perrowville Road, Forest) is holding its second annual “Trunk or Treat” on Saturday, October 28 from 4:00 — 5:30 p.m. Decorated cars, candy, and a visit from our friends at the Bedford Humane Society will all be part of this special event. The church’s historic sanctuary also will be open for anyone wishing to look inside and learn more about its history. Huddleston Community Trunk or Treat. Tuesday, October 31st 6:00-8:00 p.m. At The Glenwood Center, located near the intersection of SML Parkway and Leesville Rd in Huddleston, VA. Huddleston area churches are coming together to provide a family friendly event where children can dress up and safely enjoy the evening of October 31st. There will be plenty of candy treats to go around! Free hotdogs, chili, beverages & dessert goodies will be served as well.
