Liz Breedlove, 20, will start a one-of-a-kind internship with Dayton Children's Hospital's multi-clinical The Center for the Female Athlete. She will begin the internship on May 30. For Breedlove, a native of Big Island, Virginia, securing the internship will help her as she pursues a master's degree in athletic training from Cedarville University in Ohio. Breedlove is enrolled in the accelerated sport medicine track at Cedarville and transitioned into the master's program summer of 2022.
Amber Smith of Goodview was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
Lee University congratulates Mykala Carter of Goode, on earning Dean's List honors during the Fall 2023 semester. Dean's List recognition is earned by full-time, undergraduate students with a semester grade point average between 3.7 and 4.00.
Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, welcomed 348 new initiates from 12 universities during October 2023. Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than five percent of students on a campus are invited to join each year. Jenna Layman of Hardy and Lauryn Gardner of Bedford were both inducted into the society. They attend Radford University.
Kelly Green, a Sophomore Nursing major from Blue Ridge, was among approximately 800 Bob Jones University students named to the Fall 2023 Dean's List. The Dean's List recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester. Anna Chisom, a Freshman Political Science major from Bedford, was among approximately 680 Bob Jones University students named to the Fall 2023 President's List. The President's List recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.
Paul Rackley of Forest has achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Fall 2023 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours (exclusive of audit and pass/fail courses this semester) and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C (inclusive of audit, pass/fail courses and zero-credit courses).
The Dean's List for the 2023 fall semester at Bridgewater College has been announced by Dr. Leona A. Sevick, provost and executive vice president. More than 550 students were named to the list. Students on the Dean's List have attained a 3.4 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0. Students from this area named to the Dean's List are: Keaton Ellis , a business administration major from Forest; Bailey Stinnette , a health and physical education major from Lynch Station; and Grace Warren , a digital media arts major from Forest.
