Sara Lakey of Forest has been named to the dean’s list at James Madison University for the summer 2023 semester. Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Sara was also named to the president’s list at James Madison University for the summer 2023 semester. Students who earn president’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above. Lakey is majoring in Biology — BS.
Jessica Grassano of Thaxton, VA, received the Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing at Wilkes University’s summer commencement ceremony.
The following students were named to the 2023 spring quarter Dean’s List at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Florida Campus in Port Orange, Florida: Samuel Hanson and Brian McConkey, both of Forest.
Liz Breedlove, 20, will start a one-of-a-kind internship with Dayton Children’s Hospital’s multi-clinical The Center for the Female Athlete. She will begin the internship on May 30. For Breedlove, a native of Big Island, Virginia, securing the internship will help her as she pursues a master’s degree in athletic training from Cedarville University in Ohio. Breedlove is enrolled in the accelerated sport medicine track at Cedarville and transitioned into the master’s program summer of 2022.
Amber Smith of Goodview was recentl initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
Jack Schimmoeller of Forest graduated from the University of Hartford in May of 2023 with a MSPO in Prosthetics & Orthotics.
