Feed the Need, a New London area food pantry is addressing hunger locally with drive-up and walk-in food pantrys.
This free service is available to those who need assistance with food and is available to people from all counties. The drive-up mini pantry allows free and easy access 24 hours a day. Officially named the Free Little Pantry, it is located at 12311 E Lynchburg Salem Turnpike, Forest, VA 24551 in front of the New London Ruritan Club.
Without the help of Boy Scout Troop 48 of Timberlake helping to build this pantry, Feed the Need would not have been able to provide 24-hour service. Scout Leader Tim Robertson led the construction project.
The walk-in pantry allows guests to have easy access to meats, fresh vegetables, and shelf-stable items. It is located at the New London Church in the white building at 12371 E Lynchburg Salem Turnpike, Forest, VA 24551. The pantry is open every Saturday 10:30-11:30am
Feed the Need has been addressing food insecurity since 2018 to provide packed meals for the students of New London Academy. Since then, the organization expanded to include 2 pantries. Through these multiple programs, over 189 families have been served.
