Tom Woodard has accepted an offer to become the Town of Bedford’s next Director of Public Works. Woodard will be coming to Bedford Directly from the City of Bradenton Beach, Florida, where he has been serving as Public Works Director for 20 years. In addition to his departmental responsibilities, he has been a key player in the overall operations of the municipality located on Anna Maria Island. Among his duties there, he has exercised primary responsibility for several emergency management events including removal and disposal of debris from hurricane damage.

Woodard is a native and lifelong resident of Florida. His professional career, which spans 32 years up to this point, began with the administrative offices of Manatee County where he acted as Traffic Management Supervisor for eight years before joining the staff of Bradenton Beach. Woodard attended Manatee Community College and possesses several professional certifications from organizations including the National Incident Management System.
