Bedford Baptist Christmas worship services
    Christmas services at Bedford Baptist Church include:
    Sunday, Dec. 19: worship includes special music program. 12 – 2 p.m., Children's Christmas party.
    Friday, Dec. 24: 6:30 p.m. concert; 7 p.m. Candlelight Communion Service.

Christmas special services at EastLake Community Church
    Eastlake Community Church announces their Christmas Special Services and Events in their new facility at 1118 Hendricks Store Road (the old Shoprite building).
    Sunday, Dec. 19, at 5:30 p.m. “An Old Fashioned Christmas” community event. Enjoy a fun-filled evening of hot chocolate, cookie making, stringing popcorn and making Angel ornaments. Evening will include singing of Christmas Carols and a movie “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” This is a free event and all ages are welcome.
    Friday, Dec. 24, at 8 p.m. Christmas Eve Service “Candles, Carols and Communion.”
    Sunday, Dec. 26, at 10 a.m. Combined Worship Service (No Sunday School or Children’s Church).

Christmas services at Mentow Baptist
    Mentow Baptist Church, Huddleston, will have a Community Christmas Candlelight Service on Sunday evening, December 19, at 6 p.m.  There will be a fellowship time immediately following this special service.
    Prior to that, the Women on Mission will be delivering cakes to shut-ins on Friday, December 17, starting at 9:30 a.m.  At 2 p.m. on the same day, they will have a birthday/Christmas party for the residents of the Bedford County Nursing Home.
    On Wednesday evening, December 22, everyone is invited to join up with Christmas carolers at the church at 6 p.m. for caroling and fruit basket delivery throughout the community.  A pizza party will follow, this to be in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

Advent services
    Fort Hill United Methodist Church invites the community to attend the fifth annual Midweek Community Advent services on December 8, 15 and 22.  Prelude begins at 11:45 a.m., service at noon, with lunch served each week immediately following the service.
    This year’s schedule of speakers and music are:
    December 15: Guest Minister Rev. Randal Walton, Director of Pastoral Care, Centra. Guest Organist Dee Booth, Fort Hill United Methodist Church. Guest Soloist Douglas Thom, Tenor, Peakland United Methodist Church.
    December 22: Guest Minister Rev. Jeffrey Liddy, Chaplain, Westminister-Canterbury. Guest Organist Rev. Janet Hawkins, Director of Music, Fort Hill United Methodist Church. Guest Instrumentalist Glenn Buck, Saxophone, Lynchburg College.
    Lunch will be available at 12:30 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service.  Suggested donation: $5. BUMC Christmas season events
    Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Moneta will present special programs for the Christmas season.
    Friday, December 24:  Christmas Even Services at 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. (Communion at 10 p.m.)
    Sunday, December 26:  Combined Worship Service:  Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Worship at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, Dec. 19

Christmas service
    New Life Community Baptist Church will hold a special Christmas service on Sunday, December 19 at 10:30 a.m.  The Christmas Story will be presented during the regular Sunday morning worship hour.  Also there will be Christmas caroling at Campbell Rest Home in Bedford on Wednesday evening, 7 p.m., December 22.  DThe church meets in the Tharp Chapel at 320 N Bridge Street, Bedford.  Call Pastor Larry Ross at 540-587-8962 for more information.

Christmas Cantata
    There will be a Christmas Cantata on Sunday, Dec. 19, 11 a.m. at Diamond Hill Baptist Church, 3541 Horseshoe Bend Road, Moneta. There will be a Christmas play on Sunday evening at 6 p.m.

    Bethany United Methodist Church will present their cantata, “That Glorious Night,” Sunday, Dec. 19, at 3 p.m. Bethany Church is located in Forest on Bethany Church Circle behind the Virginia Memorial Park. A candle lighting service will follow.

Christmas play
    The United Sunday School Fellowship of Evington & Vicinity will present a Christmas play titled, “Be Still and Know,” on Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Mt. Plain Baptist Church. Lunch will be served at 130 p.m. and the play will start at 2;30 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 24

Candle Light Service
    New Prospect Church will have a Candle Light Service at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24, weather permitting. Location is 4445 Sheep Creek Rd. There will be refreshments after the service. For more information, call (540) 586-1940.

Friday, Dec. 31

Live at the Life
    Family Life Christian Church International will be celebrating Live at the Life this New Years Eve with an award show like no other. This event is free to the community and will include, Dance performances, Comedy, Live Music from Family Life's Praise and Worship Team, Ray McQueen Jr. & Recording artist Travis Greene followed by the Word of God.
