Clothes Closet
The Parrish Chapel UMC Clothes Closet is open every Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m.  Now featuring winter coats, sweaters & jeans. All items just $1. Proceeds go to support the Parrish Chapel Food Bank. The church is located at 10,000 Stewartsville Rd, Chamblissburg, VA, next door to the Chamblissburg Rescue Squad.

Community Unity Worship Night set for Jan. 19

Liberty Gate House of Prayer is hosting a Community Unity Worship and Prayer Night for Unity in Bedford County on Saturday, January 19, 7 p.m., at the Bower Center for the Arts in Bedford.

The purpose of Community Unity Worship Night is to encourage Christians to gather together as the body of Christ—along with regular attendance at the church of their choice—to meet other Christians in the community through worship and fellowship. On this particular Community Unity Worship and Prayer Night, pastors and their congregations are invited to gather in worship and prayer for the purpose of promoting unity within the body of Christ irrespective of their denominational preferences.

Guest speaker Pastor Lorenza Coles Jr., senior pastor of Unity Christian Church in Bedford, is a native of Bedford and a graduate of Liberty High School. He and his wife, Leah, founded Unity Christian Church in 2011.

There will also be a special sharing by Pastor Jesse Waller, of Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Bedford County.

Worship will be led by GraceWorkx.

Ministry through Song

Gospel Music Concert featuring "Ministry through Song" by Bobby Phillips, Center Point United Methodist Church, 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, January 19. Admission is free. Light Refreshments will be served. Missionary Night

Sunday, January 20. Morgans Baptist Church is having its AWANA program this Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for preschoolers (age 3) through eighth grade.  This week's is MISSIONARY NIGHT. Church Women United will hold their annual meeting on Jan. 25, 9:30 a.m. at the Roanoke United Methodist Home, 1009 Old Country Club Rd., Roanoke. It will be a general business meeting and installation of officers.

Huddleston Brunswick Stew and Bake Sale Youth Fundraiser

A Brunswick Stew and Bake Sale will be held at the Huddleston Methodist Church pavilion on Saturday, January 26 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Delicious stew (prepared in an outdoor kettle) and homemade baked goods will be available.  Proceeds will help raise funds for the youth of Huddleston Community Church to serve on a mission team for Hurricane Sandy relief work.  The HUMC pavilion is located at the corner of Crab Orchard Road and Smith Mountain Lake Parkway, next to Huddleston Elementary School.

Finding Faith screening

Word of Life Evangelical Church will host a screening of the movie "Finding Faith" on Sunday, January 27 at 6 p.m.  The film is based on events that Sheriff Mike Brown has investigated through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.  Cast members, including Erik Estrada, will be present to discuss the film following the screening, which is open to the public.  The church is located at 912 Burks Hill Road in Bedford.

Sunday, January 27.
