Fall Revival
    The Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Bunker Hill Community, where the Rev. Jesse Waller is pastor, will be having Fall Revival Oct. 18-22. The preacher for the week will be Elder Johnny W. Hunt. Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. nightly with church services starting at 7:30 nightly. Area choirs will be there nightly.

    The Rev. Earl Ragland from Erwin, TN, will be holding a Revival at New Prospect Church, 4445 Sheep Creek Road, beginning Oct. 19-22. Starting time is 7 p.m. Come to Penicks turn onto Sheep Creek Road pass Johnson’s Orchard and continue on approximately two miles to top of mountain (end of hard surface), you will see the church. Colonial Baptist Church Community Life Series
    Colonial Baptist Church at 221 Hillcrest St. in Blue Ridge is offering three Community Life Series classes at no charge. Call the church office at 977-5683 to register one week prior to class date.
    Thursday, Oct. 14- “Self Defense for Men & Women” Kenton Steryous- Tang Soo Do- 1st Degree Black Belt. This class will focus on basic self defense techniques, and stress a constant awareness of one's surroundings.
    Thursday, Oct. 21- “Car Care Maintenance Made Simple.” Certified ASE Instructors and Technicians. In an economy where money is tight, simple car maintenance can save a lot of money. This is Car Care 101- checking the tires, fluids, brakes and more.

Terrace View Baptist Church concert
    On Oct. 15 at Terrace View Baptist Church, 1040 Matthew Talbot Road, Forest,  Word of Life Choir will be in concert at 7 p.m. Refreshments will follow.

Saturday, Oct. 16

Ushers Ministry Anniversary
    Mt. Plain Baptist Church, 3746 Johnson Mountain Road, Evington, will celebrated their Ushers Ministry Anniversary, Saturday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. The English Family Gospel Singers of Bedford, will be in concert.

Willing Workers Club
    The Willing Workers Club of the Antioch Baptist Church, Peaksville , (Bedford VA),will be celebrating its Anniversary on October 16, at 6 p.m.  They will have a play written by Robert Carson, titled, " Say Good-Bye to The Devil," and the music will be provide by the Community Choir of  the Western Light Baptist Church. 

Parade of Reds
    Oakmulgee Baptist Church will be having its 10th Annual Parade of Reds on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 5 p.m. The guests will be The Anointed Gospel Singers and The Disciples.

Sunday, Oct. 17

Chosen Vessels anniversary
    The 4th Anniversary of The Chosen Vessels will be held at Reed Creek Baptist Church, Big Island on Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. The Ruby Jones Singers and The Carter Family Singers will be in concert.

Saturday, Oct. 23

Harvest Party
    Harvest Party to be held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2-4 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, Thaxton.

Concerned Women for America
    On Thursday, Oct. 28, from 7-9 p.m. at Brookhill Wesleyan  Church, 1043 Cifax Road, Forest, learn about today’s pressing issues from state and national speakers and how you can make a difference. Speaking will be: Wendy Wright – president of Concerned Women for America; George Tryfiates – executive director of Concerned Women for America; Victoria Cobb – president of Family Foundation, VA.
