Bedford County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers are investigating a threatening message found on a restroom wall at Jefferson Forest High School Monday around 1:50 p.m.

The SROs, from Jefferson Forest and Forest Middle School, worked with school officials to ensure the safety of the students and staff at the school, according to a news release from the BCSO. The school was placed on lockdown and Bedford County Sheriff’s field services deputies along with Virginia Game Commission Conservation Police Offices were at the school during dismissal assisting the SROs.

The investigation into the threat will continue, according to Major Ricky Gardner of the BCSO.
