Grand jury indicts Earnest for murder

A Bedford County Grand Jury has indicted Wesley Brian Earnest, 37, of Moneta on a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of his wife last December.

Earnest is charged with killing his estranged wife, Jocelyn Branham Earnest, Dec. 19 at her home in Forest. The grand jury handed down the first-degree murder and use of a firearm in a commission of a felony indictments during its meeting last Tuesday.

Jocelyn Earnest was found dead from a gunshot wound to her head at her home on Dec. 20 by a friend.
