We would also like to thank the following business people for donating other prizes for our drawing: Arthur’s Jewelry, Sam Moore’s Furniture, Southern States Bedford Co-op, Fredrick’s Flowers, Rapid Printing, Lowe’s of Bedford, Food Lion, Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, Trista’s Kountry Kitchen, Goose Creek Studio and Hardee’s Restaurant. Also included was Sport Clips Haircut’s.

Four more years

We finally made it through yet another election. It was very gratifying to see such a large number of our citizens behind Sheriff Brown and the men and women in his office.
So many of the new initiatives that he has put in place have resulted in a proactive, visible and second to none police force. Under his leadership, the Bedford County Sheriffs Office has become the most respected, competent and professional agency, not just in this state but, around the country.
My sincerest appreciation goes to the thousands of people who invited us into their communities, churches and homes during the past six months. Your contributions of time, money and support made this a much more pleasant experience than election years normally bring. Your letters to this paper have always focused on the issues and appreciation of what the Sheriff and his deputies are doing to improve the quality of life in this county. Never demeaning a candidate in order to elevate another. That certainly takes class and we are very thankful.
I would also like to thank the Sheriffs wife, Janet Brown. It has been a pleasure traveling with both of you from one end of this county to the other. Being unselfish, over the amount of time you have allowed your husband to implement his “Zero Tolerance” attitude towards crime, is virtuous.
Looking forward to four more years of excellence.
