Amherst invitational gives locals chance to shine

By Mike Forster

Amherst County played host to its invitational track meet on Saturday.

The meet featured teams and athletes who should figure prominently in next month's Region III championship.

The Liberty lady team showed that it might have the ponies to challenge E.C. Glass and Amherst for regional superiority (to say nothing of their odds in the Seminole championship.

Staunton River, meanwhile, showed that it can give Glass and Amherst a run for their money on the boys side.
