Businessman bringing historic church back to life

By John Barnhart

A Forest realtor, Martin Donovan, is in the process of bringing Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church back to life.
Ultimately he hopes to see the church have a pastor and congregation, although it won’t have United Methodist in its name anymore. It will be Mt. Carmel Church.
The United Methodist Church sold the old church, which sits at the T-intersection of Perrowville Road and Coffee Road, to Donovan. Donovan said he heard the United Methodist Church was selling the building and bought it.
