River at Forest in big showdown

County rivals to play for shot at Region III title

By Mike Forster

A blue moon?  We get those every three years, or so.

A man on the moon?  It’s been almost 40 years since we last had one of those.

Halley’s Comet?  It comes around every 76 years.

Two Bedford County football teams facing each other in a playoff game?  Why that’s never happened.

Until now, that is.

This Friday night, Staunton River will take the short bus ride to Jefferson Forest.  On the line:  a berth in next weekend’s Region III (Division 4) championship game.
