A sad end to search for missing child

It was a sad end to the search for a 2-year-old missing child Thursday afternoon after law enforcement officials confirmed that divers had located the missing boy's body around 1 p.m. at Smith Mountain Lake.

The body of August Farley was found at 12:55 p.m. near a dock at the Lake. The family is from Texas and has been renting a home at SML.



Bedford County 911 received a call this morning (Thursday, July 5) at 8:30 a.m. reporting a missing two year old child from Rosewood Lane Huddleston. The caller advised the child was last seen around 6:00 a.m.. The child has long brown hair, blue eyes and is wearing dinosaur pajamas pants and yellow PJ shirt. The caller advised they were from Texas and renting a house at Smith Mountain Lake.
