    James Christopher (J. C.) McIvor, 75 of Bedford passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, March 14, 1933, in Bedford Co., a son of Cornelia Overstreet McIvor of Forest, who survives and the late Malcolm Earl McIvor.

    He was also preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm McIvor, Jr., and a sister, Margaret M. Hargis.

    Elon G. Hutcheson, age 95 of San Antonio, died Monday, April 14, 2008.

    Mrs. Hutcheson was a graduate of Randolph Macon Women?s College and worked as a Teacher. She became a full time homemaker after she married Col. Alfred Lewis Hutcheson, who passed away in October 1982. Elon moved to San Antonio in July of 1984.

    He was a retiree of Ericsson and General Electric with over 30 years of service. John was a member of Bedford Moose Lodge #1897 and Elks.

    In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Berry.

    Doris Mae Brown, of 420 W. King St., departed this life April 14, 2008, in Bedford. She was born April 8, 1936, in Bedford, and was a daughter of the late Robert T. Brown and Annie Rebecca Goode.

    She lived all her life in Bedford and was in the first graduating class of the new Susie G. Gibson High School in 1955. She was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church where she was active in the missionary group and Women Who Fully Rely on God.

    Henry H. Bowyer, 94, Moneta

    Henry H. Bowyer, 94, of Moneta, died Monday, April 14, 2008, in Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 12, 1914, in Bedford County a son of the late Robert L. and Effie B. Bowyer.

    Henry served his country in the US Army in the early 1930s. He was CCC in Bastain, VA. He retired from the US Government as a foreman. Henry resided in the DC area for 40 years before returning to Bedford in 1988. He was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.

    Lewis Neal Abbott, Sr., 85, of Bedford, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born in Goode on Aug. 30, 1922, a son of the late Robert Neal Abbott and Mae Fifer Abbott.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edison, Richard and Leonard Abbott; a sister, Virginia Roberts.

    He was a Army veteran serving in World War II.
