How much human interest can one track meet absorb?

Well, in the case of last weekend's Joe Curcio Classic, the answer is:  plenty.

For starters, the Liberty girls and boys each delivered top-ten finishes at the meet.  That was in keeping with the spirit of big deliveries for the team.  That's because Liberty Coach Sherry Wiese delivered a brand new bouncin' baby two days before.

  • Praying for Boston

    By Congressman Robert Hurt

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those in Boston as we mourn the loss of innocent lives, pray for recovery for those injured, and come together as a nation determined to bring those guilty to justice.  The terror we saw in Boston is a stark reminder of how precious the freedoms are that we hold so dear and how lucky we are to live in a country that does not tolerate such terror and hate.

Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez will face a number of questions over the next several days during his confirmation hearings in the Senate.  Many of those questions will revolve around recent reports of Mr. Perez’s mismanagement at the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ), as well as a secret backroom deal he made that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars. By Richard H. Ruff
    Goode

Back in January I saw an ad in a farm publication about the world’s greatest agriculture show.
I looked up the location on Google Earth and realized that it was located in Tulare County which is in the Central Valley of California. Tulare is the number one agricultural county in the nation and I wanted to see why. I’m not into high tech but thanks to a cousin and my daughter all the travel arrangements, airline, rental car, and motel were made over the Internet.

  • Conservatives just can’t figure it out

You know, I can’t help but wonder: Has John Barnhart gone soft on Barack Obama?
The question jumped at me as I was reading one of Mr. Barnhart’s recent musings about just who might be the worst president ever. To my shock, he had a chance to award that dubious title to Barack Hussein Obama, and.....he didn’t take it!
