Vice President Mike Pence to Attend 75th Anniversary Commemoration at National D-Day Memorial

            The National D-Day Memorial Foundation announced Friday Vice President Mike Pence will attend the 75th Anniversary Commemoration of D-Day on Thursday, June 6 at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA.

            Vice President Pence will deliver the keynote address, “D-Day and the Nation,” during the ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m. with an aerial tribute to veterans of the Second World War.

Lawsuit alleges sexual misconduct by former Centra CEO

            A Lynchburg woman and former Centra employee has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Centra Health Inc. and its former Chief Executive Officer E.W. Tibbs, alleging sexual misconduct on the part of Tibbs.

Whitehurst files federal lawsuit against school board, school superintendent

            Having filed charges against Bedford County Public Schools with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) alleging that she was the victim of discrimination on account of her sex, Dr. Cherie Whitehurst has taken the issue to the next level, filing a federal lawsuit against the Bedford County School Board and Superintendent Dr. Douglas Schuch.

Four arrested in connection with Montvale armed robbery

            On Wednesday evening May 22, Bedford County Sheriff’s investigators arrested four individuals in connection with Monday evening’s armed robbery of the Road Side Market on May 20.

Bedford PD investigating incidents involving firearms

            The Bedford Police Department is investigating incidents that occurred Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, possibly involving men who were armed.

            According to a press release from the Bedford PD, o            n Wednesday, April 10,  at about 10 a.m., the Bedford Police Department responded to a disturbance in the 300 Block of E Franklin St.
