  • Scott Pruitt: Trump’s environmental disaster

Like the president himself, most of the current members of his Cabinet are ideological hacks who don’t even believe in the functions of the agencies to which they were appointed.
Only Donald Trump could have put such people as Betsy DeVos, Ben Carson, Rick Perry and others in positions of power. In every case, it’s the classic example of foxes guarding henhouses.

  • Keeping his promise

It was humorous to read Rick Howell’s outrage, in last week’s Liberal Agenda, about the official move of the United States embassy to Jerusalem. What was funny about it is that President Donald Trump’s decision to move the embassy merely carried out the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995.

  • What Memorial Day is about

Sorrow so deep that it can be seen but not said.  “Strong men grasped each other’s hand, none able to express their sympathy to the bereft except by look.”  A tide of sorrow swept over the small village, a silence of sadness breached only by the occasional “outburst of anguish from some broken-hearted mother, wife, or friend.”

  • Israel murders Palestinians

It was a disgusting spectacle last week in Jerusalem, where Israeli jets were killing Palestinian protesters even as Trump-supporting, “end times” so-called Christian pastors were “celebrating” the move of the U.S. Embassy to that contested city.
No previous responsible president would ever make that decision, because they knew it would cause violence and death. At last count, more than 60 Palestinians were killed by Israel. It was said that you could hear the jets in the air as the crazy preachers spoke.

  • Trump made a good decision

President Donald Trump made a wise decision when he decided to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal. The deal that Barack Obama foolishly made with Iran did not hold Iran’s nuclear program in check. What it did was put a temporary hold on Iran’s nuclear program.

  • Trump’s stupid decision on the Iran deal

President Boy Child has made the world a less safe place with his petty, vindictive decision to withdraw the United States from a deal with Iran that kept that country’s nuclear weapons program in check.
Being the spoiled, whiny, narcissistic brat that he is, he pretended that his decision hadn’t been made until it was announced so he could draw maximum attention to himself. Whatever issue is before him, it’s not about the issue; it’s all about him.

  • Time to investigate the FBI

The Mueller investigation has been churning on for a year now.
Robert Mueller was appointed to investigate allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian Government back in 2016. While he has indicted some people on unrelated charges dating from before their involvement with Donald Trump, Mueller has yet to produce any evidence of an offense by Trump, himself, that would be grounds for impeachment.

  • The Mothers Mountain March

    By James F. Burns
    Retired professor
    University of Florida

What’s the nicest thing you can give a working wife with children on Mother’s Day?  Answer—a week off, a week away from alarm clocks, cooking, cleaning, laundry, lunches, and endless to-do lists.  I have given my wife this gift for forty years.  What she did with it was surprising.

  • Fighting back against Trump’s poison

I hope the “Trump Christians” noticed that their “God’s choice” president was directly caught in a blatant lie this past week. Rudy Giuliani only had to speak once and proved that Trump has been lying all along about Stormy Daniels.

  • Republicans need a new party symbol

The great advantage I have over Rick Howell, who writes The Liberal Agenda, is that I’m not a political party hack. As a good “Democratic” Party activist, he is bound to take a “my party, right or wrong” attitude, defending whatever the party does.
