President Boy Child has made the world a less safe place with his petty, vindictive decision to withdraw the United States from a deal with Iran that kept that country’s nuclear weapons program in check.
Being the spoiled, whiny, narcissistic brat that he is, he pretended that his decision hadn’t been made until it was announced so he could draw maximum attention to himself. Whatever issue is before him, it’s not about the issue; it’s all about him.

    Cat breeding
    season is upon us

According to a study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, feral and free-roaming domestic cats have their highest pregnancy rates in March, April and May each year.
In the study, female cats had an average of 1.4 litters per year with an average of 3 kittens per litter.  The study also found that 75% of these kittens were dead or missing within 6 months.

    Preserve the music hall

As a new Bedford City resident, I can’t tell you how thrilled my husband and I were when we found out that our little town of Bedford had an Orchestra.

    Preserve the concert venue

For 30 years the Bedford Community Orchestra has provided outstanding music to our community.
It is  a gift to have such a quality orchestra in a community of our size.  Our orchestra is now in danger of losing its acoustically ideal auditorium in the Bedford Middle School.  Scott Walter and his orchestra have worked very hard to improve the sound quality; it is unique to this space.

    Preserve the
    BCO venue

We are residents of Lynchburg and have great interest in seeing the Bedford Orchestra have a facility for their practices and presentations. We have attended every presentation of the Bedford Orchestra for many years. They are an outstanding group with an outstanding director.
We understand the school will soon be sold. We do hope the town of Bedford can preserve the auditorium as a concert hall.

    Preserve the MS building, auditorium

My husband and I recently attended a concert by the Bedford Community Orchestra (BCO) held at the Middle School.
It was fantastic and the BCO can definitely compete with big city events. What a gem to have such a talented orchestra in such a little town! The sound in the Middle School auditorium is perfect!
Unfortunately, the future of the building is threatened by a new school building outside of town.

    Sheriff won’t respond

Sheriff Brown just won’t respond to my editorials, poor fella. He wants his picture in the paper and on TV. If he’ll answer truthfully, which is not likely, I can almost guarantee he’ll get his picture in the paper.

    Recycling benefits us, earth

If you recycle you may have been told: “You might as well give up on recycling, because it is all going into the landfill.”.
Wake up people and spread the word that this is not true.
I talked with Vicky Esposito at  (540) 586-7656 at Bedford County Recycling and this is what I learned: “Bedford County is fully committed to treat your recyclables as treasures.”

    Security and School Safety

With all the news about school safety, it makes me wonder how safe our schools are. In recent weeks I have observed and inquired about this problem. I have always thought the element of surprise and good planning is the best defense against the enemy.

    The bridge
    problem

Thank you for your article on the truck problem on Wolf Creek Bridge on Dickerson Mill Rd, (March 8, 2018).  After living ½ mile from the bridge for the last 4 years now, I believe there is no easy fix for the issue discussed in the article, and there are other risks on this section of road that must also be addressed.
