    Clean up the mess

For several years now, Bedford County Libraries have allowed birds to nest in their entrance porticoes. This is a health hazard and no one wants to walk through bird guano to enter the library.
Contrary to what the library system insists, there are a number of diseases that can be transmitted to humans by birds and bird waste. It is a risk for those of us who have asthma.

  • In the mud with Corey Stewart

Over the next four months, Virginians will see on full display the worst and most sickening aspects of the vile poison unleashed in our politics by Donald Trump.
That’s because the Virginia GOP nominated Trumpanzee sycophant Corey Stewart as its candidate for U.S. Senate. Stewart’s only claim to fame is his Goebbels-like worship of the lying, corrupt New York City real estate hustler in the Oval Office.

  • Dunbar’s ‘trippy road’ finally ends

Republican Cynthia Dunbar has now managed to lose a congressional nomination race in two House districts, one in which she never announced a candidacy but simply showed up to compete.
Sixth District Republicans made a reasonable choice when they nominated Del. Ben Cline. Many of them were convinced that Dunbar and the district party chair had tried to cheat their way to the nomination, at one point even hatching a plan to disqualify all the Amherst County delegates.

  • Itx will never be back

Last Tuesday I voted in the Republican primary. I cast my ballot for Nick Freitas.
