  • Football: Liberty hosts jamboree on gridiron

    For the first time in 274 days the Liberty Minutemen got to collide with players in opposing uniforms on the football field on Saturday August 11. Liberty hosted the William Fleming Colonels and the defending 2A State Chmapions, Appomattox County Raiders in a Jamboree on the Minutemen’s home turf.

  • Football: Cavaliers head down south for first action

    Most high school football teams have their first scrimmage of the season against a local team, a team within about 50 miles of their location. Adopting the philosophy of “Go big or go home,” the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers certainly went big. The team traveled 437 miles south to take on the South Effingham Mustangs in Guyton, Georgia on Friday, August 8.

  • Liberty to appeal alignment change

    The VHSL has shifted things up once again, moving several schools to different regions or classes for the 2018-19 school year.

    In the new alignment the VHSL moved the Liberty Minutemen, who were in Region 3C last year, to Region 3D.

    Liberty has filed an official appeal with the VHSL to stay put in Region 3C.

  • Basketball: Bollinger travels far and wide to get buckets

    Basketball and traveling are two of Jessie Bollinger’s favorite activities. From Monday, June 18-Wednesday, June 27 those two worlds collided.

    Bollinger, a rising senior at Liberty High School, took part in the United World Games Tour in Europe as a member of Team STUDENTathleteWorld U19 team.

  • Three Goode soccer teams finish unbeaten

    Goode U10 and U12 Soccer Teams went undefeated for their second seasons.

    The U10 Strikers and U10 Kickers soccer team coached by Zac Thomas and Hannah Bowyer played eight regular season games throughout Bedford County, ending the season 8-0.  The leading scorer for the Strickers was Mason Davidson with 21 goals.  The leading scorer for the Kickers team during the season was Jordan Carey with 22 goals.

  • Liberty Hall of Fame Golf Tournament

    The Liberty Minutemen will host the 2018 Hall of Fame Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 25 at the Bedford Country Club.

    Beginning at 8:30 a.m. the tournament will help raise funding that benefits the Liberty High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
