  • Cavaliers tennis flawless in...

Through snow and freezing temperatures the Jefferson Forest boys Tennis team has showed up to play each day, and more importantly they’ve won each day.

With a 9-0 victory over Seminole District rival Amherst County the Cavaliers move to 4-0 on the season. The victory marks their third 9-0 win of the season. In fact in the matchup against the Lancers the Cavaliers surrendered just one point in all nine of the matches played.

  • Sports Day-ly: Historically,...

Be honest, how many people had ever heard of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County aka UMBC? It is safe to say that a majority of the nation had no idea who the Chesapeake Bay Retrievers were or where they came from.

  • Manley III wins 2018 shootout

Garnet Manley III, a sophomore at Jefferson Forest High School, won the 2018 Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Richmond Junior Shootout, at Providence Golf Club in Richmond, Virginia, this past weekend. In harsh conditions Manley III shot 75-75. Temperatures were in the high 30’s to low 40’s both days with the wind chill making it feel like the 20’s.

  • Sports Day-ly: Maddening March

One of my favorite things about arcades is the cool money machines that they have. The ones where you step in, the door closes, and you have 30 seconds to grab as much money as you can while a fan whips the dollar bills everywhere.

When you walk in you are focused and prepared to get as many flying pieces of paper as possible. The goal is usually pretty high too. Sometimes people aim for $20, $50 or if confidence is sky high they’ll aim for $100.

To start the season the main goal for the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy (SMLCA) Ospreys was simple–win the VACA State Championship. Achieving that goal would be easier said than done for the Ospreys.

The basketball season officially starts in November but the Ospreys began this year’s journey much earlier. The team started to get familiar with one another in June.
