  • Softball: Lemley leads...

    Throughout the regular season Emma Lemley (107) and Meghan O’Neil (95) combined for 212 strikeouts. In the opening round of the Seminole District Tournament against Liberty Christian Lemley added 16 more strikeouts to her totals.
        

    Lemley pitched a complete seven innings and allowed just one hit while striking out 16 Lady Bulldogs to lead Jefferson Forest to a 8-0 victory in the tournament’s opening round.
        

  • Baseball: Staunton River closes...

    The Staunton River Golden Eagles ride a wave of momentum in the Blue Ridge District Tournament by closing out the regular season with a 8-1 victory over Blue Ridge rival William Byrd.
        

    Starting in the first inning, with two on and one out Nick Funk drove in Matt Marrs with a line drive single. In the second inning Marrs notched an RBI for himself, driving in Logan Ball with a single. Immediately following Marrs’ at-bat Clay Shell hit a sacrifice fly that scored Aiden Brown and gave Staunton River a 3-0 lead.
      

  • Softball: Third time's the...

    Staunton River’s first matchup in the Blue Ridge District Tournament is set. The Lady Golden Eagles, the tournament’s No. 3 seed, will faceoff against No. 2 Lord Botetourt for the third time this season on Thursday, May 17.
        

    The previous two matchups have looked identical on the scoreboard. Lord Botetourt defeated Staunton River at home 4-2 on Friday, April 13 then again by the same score at Staunton River on Friday, May 4.
        

  • Soccer: Staunton River beats...

    The first matchup between the Lady Golden Eagles of Staunton River and the Lady Terriers of William Byrd ended without a winner. The second matchup between the two teams looked like it was headed the same direction on Friday May 11.
        

  • Softball: Walk-off!

    The Lady Minutemen dugout was full of screams with hands, bats and helmets banging on the fence. Across the field the Jefferson Forest dugout was quiet and focused. Everyone’s eyes focused on either Meghan O’Neil on the mound or Gracie Dooley in the batters box.
        

    Dooley stepped into the box with runners on second and third with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Jefferson Forest led 2-1.

    The Golden Eagles defense was perfect on Monday May 7. The team did not allow a single Eagle from Franklin County to cross home plate in the either of the two games in Monday’s double-header.
        

    Staunton River (13-4) won the first game 5-0 and the second game 1-0.
      

  • Soccer: Cavs in driver seat for...

    Looking to rebound from a 3-1 loss to E.C. Glass, Jefferson Forest traveled to Liberty to take on the Minutemen in the second matchup of the season between the two teams.
        

    The Cavaliers were victorious, 3-0, in the first matchup and posted an identical score in the second matchup. Jefferson Forest defeated Liberty 3-0 to sweep the Minutemen this season.
