Staunton River baseball has been on a tear as of late. Since losing to Jefferson Forest 3-1 on March 17 the Golden Eagles have not lost.

The team officially started district play on Wednesday April 11 with a dominating 13-3 win over Fleming in five innings. Two days later the Golden Eagles traveled to Lord Botetourt to face off against the Cavaliers and picked up their second district win in three days with a 9-6 victory.

  • Tennis: JF Tennis brings home...

The Jefferson Forest boys tennis team continued its dominating season on Saturday April 14 at the Heritage Invitational.

Competing against Liberty Christian Academy and host school Heritage in doubles and singles the Cavaliers won everything, literally.

The duos of Jacob Hannell and Robbie Hall, Jeff Scott and Jordan Lumpkin along with Daniel Burger and Jonathan Peterson all won their respective doubles championships.

It had been nearly a decade since a Bedford County school has hosted a track meet. This season Jefferson Forest, Liberty and Staunton River all received brand new surfaces on the tracks–ditching the asphalt tracks in favor of rubber surfaces.

“A rubberized surface is easier on the legs, safer and faster,” Staunton River Head Coach Joe Curcio said.
