Elderfest begins on Thursday, May 2 from 6 pm until 8 pm and continues Friday, May 3, from 9 am until 2 pm.at the Bedford Moose Lodge#1897 on Rt. 460 West. On Thursday evening entertainment will be provided by the band NiteKap. Admission to the event is free.
Attendees can preview the over 25 exhibits from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. while enjoying delicious BBQ, snacks and beverages generously prepared and provided by the Bedford Moose Lodge and Bedford County Parks and Recreation. Keith Campbell will host the event and also entertain you.
Thursday evening is specially designed for seniors who still work and who cannot come during the day on Friday. But they also provide an opportunity for all seniors to have some fun on Thursday night and still come back for more on Friday if they choose.
An added incentive to attending Thursday evening is a special door prize to be given away. The Bedford County Parks & Recreation Department will be giving away two tickets to a show at Attic Productions for later in 2024. Each person attending on Thursday evening will receive a door prize ticket when they enter. To win, a ticket holder must be present at the time of the drawing that night.
On Friday a special lunch will be available sponsored by the Bedford Elks Lodge. Lunch tickets are $4.00 and the meal will be catered by Farmers Garden — The Pita Company. Boxed lunch will consist of a club wrap, potato chips, dessert and beverage. Free coffee will be available throughout the day. The Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living will host a community conversation on health and aging to begin Fridays activities. Mr. Guy and the Workman Brothers will perform Friday morning. The first 30 participants through the door on Friday will also receive a FREE lunch courtesy of the Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living.
