Last year Joe’s attorney general, Garland Merrick appointed Robert Hur (does he have a son named Ben?) as a special counsel to investigate Joe’s alleged mishandling of classified documents. A number of boxes of classified documents had turned up in Joe’s possession. One box of them was found it the garage at Joe’s house in Delaware. Many had “top secret” markings and some had information that was still current.
Hur found two very big things as he questioned Joe. The first is that Joe didn’t accidentally take these classified documents with him when he left the vice-presidency or when he was a senator. He deliberately retained them, knowing he was in violation of federal law.
The second thing Hur found is the basis for not seeking charges against Joe. Joe is senile. He can’t remember when he was vice-president. He’s confused about a number of other key events. Hur concluded that, if Joe goes before a jury, he will come off as a well-meaning, senile old man and they won’t convict him.
So, the “Democrats” are going to nominate a senile old man for another four years in the White House?
There is clear evidence that his son, Hunter capitalized on potential access to the President of the United States. Joe even facilitated this by making audio cameo appearances while Hunter had conference calls to potential clients.
The question is, did Joe profit from Hunter’s business dealings?
The House of Representatives has been investigating Joe since evidence of his facilitating Hunter’s wheeling-dealing. In November, a top White House attorney claimed the investigation is illegitimate because the House has not voted for a formal impeachment hearing. Due to the lack of a vote for a formal impeachment hearing, Joe’s attorneys have refused House efforts to subpoena information for their investigation.
So, in December, the House voted to begin a formal impeachment investigation. This does not mean they have evidence to impeach Joe. This just means they are looking for it and the formal hearing now gives them the horsepower they need to force Joe to turn over the documents they seek. House investigators can now issue subpoenas that courts will enforce to force Joe to turn over the documents they want.
Right now, House Republicans do not have evidence of “high crimes and misdemeanors” by Joe. Maybe they won’t find anything beyond evidence that a senile old man helped his crooked son give the illusion of access to the president. Or, maybe along with being a senile old man he is crooked old man who got a cut of Hunter’s profits.
But, we won’t know until House investigators get to look at the documents they need.
By the way, all this got started from documents from a laptop that Hunter carelessly left at a computer repair shop. Remember that laptop that everybody in the mainstream news media, with great effort, ignored back in 2020? They knew it was an explosive story in an election year and they were determined to run interference for Joe. Maybe Joe would have still got elected, but maybe not. He didn’t win by a large margin in some key states and the documents found on that laptop may have made a difference.
We will never know because the hopelessly biased mainstream media spiked the story, at least until the election was over.
